Creates a lush and lavish lather, a perfect product for a shaving father.

When I was little, I used to watch my grandad shave.

He used an old bar soap that he only used for shaving and a worn shaving brush that looked older than he was.

His morning shaves were so peaceful and quiet – we both really enjoyed the stillness of his morning shave.

Especially since he’d go from his tranquil shaving ritual straight into chaos of our noisy family breakfast into the even noisier chaos that was his commute through Cairo to his factory.

My Dad on the other hand had no peace and no tranquility.

Shaving was a chore that he hated, a chore that he rushed.

Crap out of a can or worse no shaving cream whatsover and just brutalizing his face with a plastic disposable razor in the shower.

He hated shaving, it was just something that he had to do before going to work.

A bad shave starts by not caring about yourself and not knowing any better.

A great shave is a meditative ritual that prepares you for the day – a moment of stillness you make for yourself.

Yeah, it’s a bit of a woo woo idea but why not? You spend the whole day looking after everyone else: kids, wife, coworkers, customers.

When do you look after yourself?

What does it do?

Shaving Soap has three main purposes:

– Keep the skin hydrated and pores open

– Give the razor lubricant to slide across the skin

– Provide a clean, sterile, antiseptic environment so you don’t get razor burn or an infection.

My Bald and Brash shaving soap is specially designed by Dragon Bath Worx (the best soap maker in the Waikato) and myself to do all three things.
It’s a thirsty shaving soap that holds a tonne of water and keeps a stable lather.

This will keep your skin and hair soft and ready for the razor.

Keeping the skin hydrated as part of your shaving ritual is a crucial part in combating shaving rash and pizza neck.

Who’s it for?

If you find that shaving gives your skin a hard time – this is a great place to start.

If you suffer from shaving rash, pizza neck or simply wish shaving was better I’d start here.

If you are an enlightened soul that understands your skin and hair absorb everything that you put on them and want to minimize your exposure to chemicals and solvents I guarantee that my Bald and Brash Shaving soap is made of cold pressed castor oil, coconut oils. It also contains cocoa butter, shea butter an and pure therapeutic grade essential oils to ensure the highest possible quality and best results for your skin, hair, body and soul.

If you value an all natural, New Zealand made product with no parabens, fragrance oils, preservatives, fillers or petrochemicals – then this is your new favourite shaving soap.

What else do you need for the best shave you’ve ever had?

I’d start with a great shaving soap – my Bald and Brash Shaving Soap is made with the same meticulous attention to detail as my aftershave

– add to that a quality boar hair shaving brush (you can do badger hair but trust me, boar hair is better for shaving soaps – and it’s cheaper and typically last longer)

Next you’ll need a good safety razor- I currently stock Muhle r89s a well balanced, time tested manufacturer of razors – their brushes- I’m not a huge fan of…

Oh! and you’ll need some quality blades –  I carry two brands: Feather (a Japanese surgical steel company – and makers of my favourite blades of all time) and Astra (an old hand in the game that’s been operating for decades)

You know what, maybe you just want me to throw together a wet shaving bundle for you?
